 Q. So... Why!? A. I like writing. I don't get to do enough of it in my making-computers-do-good-things vocation, thus, I need an outlet. Also, recently, I've been randomly creating things that either are graphics or are at least linked to a bunch of pictures, so it's nice to have all of those dealys organized. Hey, maybe other people will enjoy the stuff here, too. Q. How often is the site updated? A. Every weekday, sometime between 11 PM and 10 AM. Q. What is updated at those times? A. The majority of the week I produce random graphical things, items that go in Internet Impressions, Quartered Quire, Captured/Captioned, Bumper Stickers,or Dr. Desktopulos. At least once a week, usually toward the end, I create something wordy for the Fiction Section, Game'in, or Rantage. Rants may also appear randomally at any time during the week as an addition to the normal update schedule. Q. Do you archive everything you produce on the site? A. Everything I produce is (eventually) archived in its appropriate section; however, my random daily comments, if they are no longer than a paragraph, are not archived, because I fail to see the point. If you really need little blurbs from me, check out my livejournal. Q. What version of Chickfistmagnet is this site? A. Technically, it's version 5.5 or so; however, the site didn't get onto the web from my harddrive until version four, so it's basically version two. You can stop listening now. Q. What didn't make the cut to version 5, or 2, whatever? And what got changed? A. I totally eliminated the poetry section, because that was sad and pathetic and made it look like I have actual emotions. I modified much of the site to be more user (and eye) friendly, and I moved the "about me" section to be part of the FAQ. If I remember anything else I changed, I'll let you know. Q. Is it Chickfistmagnet or Chick Fist Magnet? A. It depends on my mood. Q. Why "Chickfistmagnet"? A. It's one of my many (rarely used) nicknames. For a full explanation, please consult your neighborhood minister. Q. There seem to be some pretty humongous gaps between content updates... A. This whole site was launched in 2001, and then taken down about mid-2002, due, mainly, to having a life. It was relaunched in mid-2005 due to having a life that afforded me some free time for creativity. During my "off" time, I did create things that would be intended for the site, just not all that often. So, with everything properly dated, it gives the impression I can wait six months to update something. Q. Do you mind when people send in their suggestions, or when they point out spelling errors? A. Not at all, I love to hear from my adoring/nitpicky public. And I like to keep the site as up-to-date and error free as possible, so please point out the many ways that you can find things that are wrong. I'm sure you get off on it. Q. Tell us a little about yourself? Or What was that "about me" section you mentioned? A. Glad you asked. Let's do this in list form...
A. Well, let's see, there must be a helpful link somewhere around this site... Q. Are you anywhere else on the net? A. I have a (previously mentioned) livejournal, 1up Blog, and a My Quiz produced in 2000 that is oddly still online. I also maintain a variety of professional websites, but I'm not linking to them here for reasons that should be obvious (I don't trust you at all). Q. This isn't a very helpful FAQ, is it? A. Nope. Fits the site pretty well. |
